Recreational and Education Applications

Photography and Videography

Drones are revolutionizing aerial photography and videography, providing unique perspectives and stunning visuals. In Australia, drones are widely used by photographers and filmmakers to capture landscapes, cityscapes, and events from the sky. Popular drone models for photography and videography include the DJI Phantom series and the Mavic Air series.

First Person View (FPV) – Racing and Freestyle Quads

FPV is primarly used as a sport in racing or a form of expression through freestyle flying. This particular RPA is considered the hardest of all drones to fly as it requires a lot of practice and skill. Unlike other drones in Australia, these drones are generally not equipped with return to home (RTH) and fly in a mode called acro where the drone can be placed into any position on any axis. CASA has very strict laws when it comes to these particular drones and there must be certain conditions met on where they are flown and under what conditions, will touch on this later.

Education

Many schools are using basic drones to engage student as an interesting way to teach basic coding and programming
